Further to elder issues
We moved the Aged P from his rather horrid mobile home to a pleasant Old Folks' complex over the weekend. Living room is about what he had. Bedroom and bathroom are way bigger. Kitchen is tiny, but the new gig provides three meals a day in the communal dining hall (and the Aged P was merely microwaving his meals). The complex is way nicer than anything else we saw, and the inmates we spoke to seemed happy (one said: "I cried for the first two weeks. After that, I loved it"). Der Alte is way less isolated, and he likes the food. We are all relieved.

Sounds a relief..
Glad he is less intransigent than many.. one suspects that the meals--and their regularity--can ameliorate some of the pangs of restricted access to (say)
Loud passages from the Christmas Oratorio (at midnight) and related Independence Lost.
Lucky you (All!)
Congrats.

So far, so good... hope it continues.
We had several weeks problems with my mother-in-law before she settled in. With multiple daily visits and daily visits from her dog (another story...) she finally became used to the place. It worked out well in the long run. Hope yours goes as well.

Sounds very good
Regular decent meals have a huge impact on quality of life. And eating alone is sad.
