Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I'm worried about the New Year.
How are we going to have a New Year, when in all reality, we can't have a New Year's Celebrations and ring it in... without a *SUPER DE-DUPER* important Element.

I mean, after all Dick Clark is Dead. We can't ring in the New Year anymore!

I'll probably watch my Laptop's NTP Daemon flop-over this year... and hopefully it'll continue. Since we don't have anymore Clarkium-Ricium... to replenish the stock, it might just "end"... unless it is Time-T that we really have to worry about.

Of course... then Mon, 18 Jan, 2038 at 23:14:07 EST will be our demise. Hopefully we will all be on 64-bit time by then. Yeah... Dern AT&T Engineers... couldn't they at least have planned ahead a bit? Sheesh!

I mean, they in the immortal style words of Bill Gates:
Kernigan, Ritchie, Thompson, McIlroy, Lesk and Ossanna designed it: 32-bit Time should be enough for anyone!

So who invented the 32-bit integer so we know who really deserves the blame?

Appears those that created the Signed Integer in the C language might be the culprits, but that is hard to believe.

Of course, once we switch to 64-bit... Sun, 04 Dec, 292,277,026,596 at 11:30:08 EST... BOOM. That is assuming the Earth's crust hasn't moved enough to move Michigan into a different Time-Zone. Or the heat death of the universe hasn't happened already.

At about 11pm this eve, begin writing out (by hand) hash-/-marks ... one for each integer within a Googol..
[extra Points for neatness]
By the time you've gotten 0.000001%-THERE?

You'll be feeling NO anxiety.
I Guarantee That.

Er, PayPal or Visa be OK.
New Yes, but if we switch to 64-bit time...
...will we still make the same idiot mistake and make time signed?

"No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT...there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not completely rule out flying reindeer.

Believe."

New Re: Yes, but if we switch to 64-bit time...
Of course, that'll only leave us

292,277,024,583 (292 Billion, 277 Million, 24 Thousand, 583) years to correct it and go to 128bit non-signed time...

Considering the universe is only supposedly ~15 billion years old... I think the heat death of the universe is more likely.
