Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Finally read "To Engineer is Human..."
I have had it for a while, I finally read it over the last few days and finished it last night.

He's a good writer, but I was disappointed by the book. I was hoping for a lot more meat about the failures, but he spent about 75% of the text waxing eloquently about the art of design and creativity, etc.

It's a good read, and thanks for the pointer, but it left me unsatisfied. I think it would have been a much better ~ 25 page essay. Such is life. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New If you crave more / or more-incisive 'failure' stories:
note the several other titles listed at bottom of that link, by Petroski.
Maybe he needs a Special summary-title next? rather than supposing that many will read all his opera. Say:
~~ "How it IS that .. only through Failures-revisited Can an Engineer learn what Engineering is truly About"
