New Droid Razr Maxx HD?
http://www.motorola....-HD,en_US,pd.html

That is starting to look pretty good to me. It weighs about the same as my existing Palm Treo. It's big without being huge.

Some don't like the metal edging around the screen, but that's been about the only criticism I've read. Other than some occasional stalling in the OS (which presumably will be addressed over time).

It might be worth waiting for the next Nexus, but IIRC, Google is trying to phase out microSD slots (in favor of the cloud) and having removable storage is important to me.

It is CDMA/LTE and GSM, so would potentially be useful while traveling (at least for voice).

I wish it had 2 GB of RAM (one sees that coming in top-of-the-line phones).

The Samsung Note II sounds appealing (I like being able to use a stylus, myself, after using one for years with the Treo), but I figure it's just too big.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Scott.
New Look at the samsung GS3
I have had mine since July and love it
at this point I would not go back to the Iphone

New GS3: great phone
Shite on a stick build quality, though.
New It's a fine phone, but MAXX has gobs of battery life.
It's nice that the GS3 battery can be replaced, but not having to carry a spare around is nice too.

The MAXX is a little smaller than the GS3, too.

If the GS3 were quad core in the US now (like the international one is), it would certainly be a compelling choice. As it stands, I figure if I got a GS3 it would be "obsolete" quickly.

Decisions, decisions...

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Battery life is my one complaint
Well, the voice control is too susceptible to noise, so it's hard to use in the car, which is the place I'd most want to use it.

New A Razr HD review at Android Police.
http://www.androidpo...i-love-it-anyway/

It's not perfect, but that doesn't stop me from loving the Razr HD.

Seems like a fair review on a quick skim.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Its how I feel about...
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

New No Galaxy Note II for me - No LTE yet. Already obsolete.
A couple of good reviews of the GNii:

From the OS and features standpoint:
http://www.androidpo...their-killer-app/

A weaker review; a comparison to the iPhone 5 features:
http://www.androidau...xy-note-2-114698/

A friend who develops for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry said that the phone that gets the most support inquiries for his app is Motorola Razrs. His app is pretty memory intensive and he thinks there may be something weird about the memory bandwidth on the Moto phones or something.

Oh well. It makes sense to keep waiting I guess...

Supposedly the next Nexus phone will be an LG device that's coming Monday - Oh, but it isn't. Canceled due to Sandy - http://www.androidpo...cially-cancelled/

Cheers,
Scott.
