They never predict the future. That's just a style, a kind of metaphor.
They describe how it is now, as they write.
Seriously, there is a church rule. Prophets are allowed to predict exactly one thing, and one thing only: if you don't clean up your act, God will kick your ass but good. Allowed variations are whether the act that needs to be cleaned up is that of groups or individuals, and how pleasant things will be if you do clean up your act. The rest is just describing things as they are, projected foreward. That (except for attributing the ass-kicking to God) applies to the best secular prophets (e.g. George Orwell) too.
Look at the things you describe - it was ever thus. The end times you describe have been happening for all of recorded history, except for times when things were worse.
