Public radio can work...
but consider the branding/merchandising aspects as well.
Getting people to cough up $5 bucks for a service they get for free is difficult (but not impossible.)
Getting people to pay $15 (for a $5 item) with a logo/phrase/whatever works even better.

but I haven't had much luck with merchandising in the past. it needs to be relatively good quality merchandise, see...
