Welcome to IWETHEY!

New A few years ago I read some preliminary research
that people can control what the body focuses its natural defenses on by simply concentrating. They lightly burned some volunteers, and found that those who concentrated on focusing "healing power" to the burn area healed faster.

The brain's nerves reach into a lot of funky little networks that control all kinds of stuff.

How about weird things like a 2nd brain in your tummy?

The enteric nervous system is rather funky, don't you think? :)

The Necessity of Intuition]

A Global Awareness Paper By Aaron Blackwell

Part 1: The Problem

"The intellect can understand any part of a thing as a part, but not as a whole."
- R. H. Blyth
....
In addition to this, a recently discovered "second brain" exists in the gut (Blakeslee, 1996). This brain is called the enteric nervous system and surrounds the esophagus, stomach and intestines. It is capable of learning and remembering, and is tied only loosely to the brain in our heads. This nervous system is very primitive, and is tied in more closely with the subconscious aspect of our brains. We experience it as "gut feelings." (Japanese businessmen call this haragei, or belly talk.)
