In fact, they're looking considerably perkier than RIM (not that that is a particularly high bar to get over), not least because they sell hundreds and hundreds of millions of low-end handsets all around the world.
Of far more interest is what Google will do to Motorola when the takeover happens this year.

The picked-over bones of the hardware division is jettisoned, sans patents, by Christmas.
