Computer with a network card/connection but no hard drive
or any other drive, save a networked one.
Almost NC's are the iMac, etc. No floppy, but network connection, but they have a hard drive and CD-ROM, so not quite a NC.
I am free now, to choose my own destiny.

not necessarily....
.....it depends on the type of network appliance.
Client-side network appliances typically do not have
hard drives, but server-side appliances quite often
do have hard drives. There are also plenty of Linux-
based network appliances.
