New The beauty of the capitalist paradise that is modern China.
If only we got rid of the regulations that were strangling industry in the US, then we could have economic growth like China. Then everything would be great!

That "haze" can be seen better in this view from closer to ground level in Beijing:

Some numbers on Beijing air quality measurements are here (collected at the US Embassy using your tax dollars!!!11) are on the Twitter thingy, if you've got an account there - http://twitter.com/#%21/BeijingAir

Cheers,

New We already...
get stuff similar to that here in West Michigan.

It float over the water from the Metropolis of Gary, IN through Milwaukee, WI

We have days where the air hazes similarly to the pictures, though not as dense.

Heck a few weeks ago, when the Forest Fires to the west were really cranking, we also had forest fire smoke make its way to GRR along with the SMOG from the Chicago Energy Pit.

It sucks. For some reason, Gran rapids has something that Funnels air... and many times severe weather right to our doorstep.
New And we could again have the excitement . . .
. . of the Detroit River catching on fire now and then.
New That was the Cuyahoga in Cleveland
I thought we had a USA monopoly on burning rivers. I could be wrong.
New But hey, we got a great beer name out of it
