Cautiously optimisitic.
"Events could dictate..." and all that. With this administration in particular, I think a "wait and see" approach is best recommended. It could silence one criticism of him during next year's campaign though. So there is some hope at any rate.

Without an agreement to stay, they have to leave.
Negotiations for a new agreement dragged out too long (it takes months to pull the troops and equipment out), so the decision was made by default. It's hard to see it changing now.
Of course, a new agreement could be put in place in the future, but since the US won't accept one without immunity from Iraqi laws and they refuse that condition, its hard to see that happening, either. Violence may increase after the troops leave, but it's pretty high even with them there - http://www.google.co...&biw=1366&bih=918 - so that can't be a reason to stay. Cheers, Scott. |

Money is always a "reason" to stay. ;0(
If we do pull out, it will be because no one sees making a profit from staying.

Silly man
don't you realize its an election year?
Sure, understanding today's complex world of the future is a little like having bees live in your head. But...there they are.

But that could play either way
