New This doesn't surprise me
Deaf people, being unable to talk with most of the world, have evolved their own culture which involves a lot of pride in who and what they are. That a deaf person would want a deaf child therefore doesn't surprise me.

Any other disability I know of, would. But deaf does not.

Cheers,
Ben

New I've heard that too (no pun intended)
There was another story a while back about deaf parents who refused to allow a hospital to perform an apparently fairly routine procedure to fix a minor birth defect that would eventually lead to deafness. They and the hospital ended up in court, the hosipital arguing that prohibiting the medical treatment was neglect. I'm pretty sure the parents won that one.
