Having obtained a WinCE 3.0 based iPAQ I went thru the install of hotsync.

If you want to sync your mail, memos, schedule or tasks then you can only do so with OUTLOOK *but* it *must* be Outlook 2002 and guess what - Outlook 2002 requires you to either buy a copy or use one provided on the iPAQ CD but you have to then register online & are advised to upgrade to WinXP on your host PC.

If as in my case, I have a corporate notebook running a lower level of OUTLOOK (as we do) then it tells me I must update to Outlook 2002 (which I can't do because the corporation has to make that approval).

Also BLUETOOTH failed after 1 day - kept getting an error message about bluetooth hardware not being present. Turns out this is a known bug (of many) in WinCE & there is supposed to be a patch - also doing a soft reset gets the bluetooth working again.

As said before - the iPAQ 3870 is a heavy little beast.
