And how much? And how did their volume compare to the market as a whole? And where is the evidence that Fannie's activities in the market caused any other activity?
You're asking me to do the work for you. From what I've seen Fannie did not drive the market. The fact that Fannie's actual default rate is significantly better than the market as a whole is sufficient for me to draw that conclusion, though there are plenty of other reasons. You're claiming that even though Fannie didn't directly participate in the majority of the activity, the fact that they participated at all caused an increase in activity by other actors. That's a pretty significant claim, which demands significant support. If you've got that evidence, you show me where to find it. --
