New Awesome political gaffe from Bachmann
http://firstread.msn...che-for-bachmann-
Bachmann repeated that idea to NBC News in an interview. "I'm not pining for nostalgia back in the 50s and 60s, that isn't it," she told NBC's Kelly O'Donnell. "But that sensibility about how we were grounded here is so important. For instance, another American that was born in Waterloo was John Wayne. We were a very patriotic 'yay rah rah America' city and nation and I think that's what America's looking for again."

Nice little speech. Except John Wayne the actor isn't from Waterloo, it's the home town of John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer. Oops.

New Local Faux Newz Station
did a segment questioning whether the media was out to get Bachmann. Interviewed a local political analyst. His comment was something to the effect "because she doesn't verify her facts, and when confronted with a documentation contrary to her statement, instead of ceasing and retracting, ignores the 'proof' and makes her statement ever more vigorously.".

Newz anchor sputtered/muttered and moved quickly on to another segment.
New She is a "believer", and . . .
. . recent psychological studies have shown that when a believer is presented with strong or even undeniable evidence their belief is wrong, it just strengthens their belief.
New I think that this is even better

BACHMANN: The shorthand way of describing to you what quantitative easing is is a license to print money without any value behind it…In the last two years of the Obama administration, if you pull a dollar out of your pocket, you have lost 14 percent of the value of that dollar. That means the federal government has stolen that money from you… They’ve been printing essentially valueless money and flooding it into the money supply. I don’t stand for that. A dollar in 2011 should be the same as a dollar in 1911. A dollar should be worth a dollar.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from."

New stupid is as stupid does
Any opinions expressed by me are mine alone, posted from my home computer, on my own time as a free American and do not reflect the opinions of any person or company that I have had professional relations with in the past 55 years. meep
New Re: stupid is as stupid does
That goes without saying for the thousands of conservatives who will vote for her next year.
