New This might actually be a good thing
The U.S. Department of Justice sent a letter to House and Texas Senate leaders Tuesday -- reportedly in person -- threatening a shut-down of airports if HB 1937 is passed.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from."

New sexual assault is sexual assault even if the TSA does it

New Dang. It died.
http://www.lonestarr...ills-failure.aspx

By the way, I just had the joy of watching my oldest daughter go through this at Fort Wayne International airport. Where there are about a dozen TSA goons for every passenger. I wrote a letter to the local paper. They've always printed every letter I've ever sent. But I doubt seriously they'll print this one:

Dear Editors:

I submit the following in the hope that it will find its way into your editorial pages.

FWA Loses a Fan

My daughter recently visited us from her home in North Carolina. She flew into Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA). She said, “[Arriving at FWA] I kind of felt sorry for Fort Wayne Airport as I walked through the terminal. It was practically empty.” Her pity was overcome by the experience she endured when departing FWA. The first thing that happened was that they would not check her bag (despite my having paid the fee for bag check) because the attendant was busy chatting on the telephone. By the time he hung up, it was only 27 minutes prior to the flight – 3 minutes too late to check her bag. My daughter then went through the peepshow xray machine. A female TSA agent (that's Team Sexual Assault) was waiting for her on the other side of the peepshow. But, my daughter is a very attractive 20 year old, so when she came through the other side, another female TSA agent scrambled to change places with the awaiting agent so that she could sexually assault my daughter by feeling her breasts. I'd use kinder words, but that's what it was, plain and simple. So invasive was this “search” that my daughter remarked to the agent, “Yes, they're real.”

As I watched this through the glass, I have never felt such a failure as a father. I was actually witnessing my daughter being sexually assaulted and I was doing nothing about it. I didn't because I knew that if I did the only result would be that I would be taken to jail, forced to pay a fine I couldn't afford and my daughter would likely be unable to board her flight and return home and to college.

When my daughter arrived at Charlotte, she called me and said she would never again fly into Fort Wayne. She said, “They didn't do that to me in Charlotte. They didn't do that to me in Detroit. That is an awful way to treat people. It's disgusting.” As a private pilot I hate to hear my daughter so utterly disgusted with any aspect of aviation. But as an American I hate even more the abolition of our most basic rights.
New they should have shut the airports for a few days
the uproar would seriously shut the goons down

New Horrible. Send it to TSA HQ too.

If you use the web form, make sure you send it by mail as well. John Pistole is the Administrator - http://www.tsa.gov/w..._pistole_bio.shtm He's from Indiana.

Don't let this get swept under the rug in Ft. Wayne.

:-(

Cheers,
Scott.
New I'm very disappointed with them
New Who? The TSA people or TX legislators?

I'm disappointed with them for being cowards when it was time to stand up for our rights.

The TSA I'm pissed off with for their belief that the constitution and amendments don't apply to them
New What Constitution and Bill of Rights?
We don't need no stinkin' Constitution!
New Thanks.
About an hour after I emailed the story, a female editor called to confirm it was okay with my daughter to print a letter referring to her. I relayed what my daughter had written me about it ("Go for it, Dad. I hope they print that letter because I'm sure there are a lot of people who feel the same way") and it will be printed. It's going to be printed. For whatever that's worth. ;0(

New At least it wasn't Corpus Christi, Texas...
