If Attachmate is buying a Linux business, why would they allow the Unix copyrights to be sold off to a Microsoft led consortium which could cause them major annoyance? It is possible those "valuable intellectual properties" were not in the package.

Novell is undergoing a transition as it has been acquired by software company Attachmate, and the patent sale is part of the acquisition deal. FWIW. Cheers, Scott.
