Hey folks, sorry for the unannounced outages today.
I finally have all the wiring upstairs complete. 4 bedrooms. 1 existing coax drop in each room. 2 new Cat5e ethernet cables in each room. Purchased a bunch of 3-keystone jacks. Wires labeled. Called friend and he showed me how to wire the keystones, and then create the terminations at the other end. 568-A wiring chosen and in-use. All jacks are now live and tested upstairs. My office (in the living room downstairs) has wires, the jacks are done, but they're neither tested nor live....yet. *le sigh* Netgear ProSafe JGS524 24-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch purchased and installed in a temporary home...Until I can get an extension cord to run power to the switch when it moves to its permanent home in the closet. 4 more wires to run (from the closet, through the attic, down the laundry chute, through the drop-ceiling in the basement, to their termini.) Damn, this is one helluva job. But the end is in sight! Thanks for understanding.
