Welcome to IWETHEY!

New That was pretty quick for your field.
Or this in the Cooking Field?
New Nope, not the cooking
Though I did have two opportunities recently.

Did the open call for The Next Food Network Star. I was pretty sure going in how it would work, and read an article from a season 6 contestant that confirmed it: They start the open calls already knowing what "characters" they want. If you match one of them, you get a call back. If not, there's almost nothing you can do that will get their interest.

Then I was a contestant in the Aetna Healthy Food Fight, based on healthy recipes according to some standard I don't necessarily agree with. But my recipe looked good on paper -- even though I didn't read the standard, and saw that other people created recipes tailored to it. Did that on Sunday, they say it could be a couple weeks before they announce the winner.

The offer (CEO needs to sign off on Monday, so it's still tentative) I'll have to be a bit vague about. I haven't seen the NDA yet, but it's a regulated industry, so I don't know yet what the rules are for public disclosure.

Research conducted at the University of Oxford has proven conclusively that a cat on a table will inevitably push anything on it off the edge and onto the floor.

“The only obvious conclusion that we have been able to come to is that the Earth must be ball shaped, or cats would have pushed everything off the edge by now.”
