Once you've slept with a woman for a while, shes "family", whether there was ever a legal bind or not. And of course the relationship is all expenses at that point.

Been there, more than once. Well, more three times - but I've lost count.

D showed up at my door years later needing a place to sleep and some employment. Fortunately I got her out of the house rather quickly, but she still works for me two days out of the week.

She got certified by the State of California as "not quite right" and is under a State aid, counselling and medication program, but needs a little extra cash.

I had to pay her for two years to stand at the kitchen counter keeping count records of the number of cars that went in and out of the Vons parking lot across the street. What was that all about? I haven't a clue, but whatever state psychologist prescribed the medication she was on deserves considerable jail time.

Fortunately, she works cheap, and now, after two years recovery from that medication she's getting to be quite a good worker, which is good, because L's willingness to work has been in serious decline and may be terminal.
