So I was reading Taube's "Good Calories/Bad Calories". It is not a diet book, it doesn't tell you what to eat. So I didn't start a diet from it.
But it does address the alleged toxicity of fat and salt. The bottom line: bacon will not kill you.
So I decided to eat bacon and eggs for breakfast any time I damned well feel like it. I live alone, I can do things like that.
Coincidentally, I weighed myself for the first time in years that day, on a good balance beam scale. 203lb. Damn. I'm not fat, but that isn't good.
When it comes to bacon, "any time I damned well feel like it" comes around rather often.
I cut NOTHING from my diet. All I did was add bacon and eggs, about 4 times per week. No toast or waffles or anything, just B&E. Maybe 5 times per week. Or 6.
So, 2 weeks later, I happened to weigh myself again. 197. Six pounds in two weeks. By adding fat.
