New Safari out
I really like the new Reader feature, it shows up at the end of the address bar when Safari realizes you're viewing an article. Click it and the article will be displayed without all the extra stuff(ads). It's rather like Readability, but it also notices multipage articles and automatically loads the additional pages into the same view. Th view can also be printed if you'd like, with out the other stuff using up your paper and ink/toner.

Neat. Thanks for the pointer. It's fast on this netbook.

Adblock Plus work-alike for Win32 version?
I can't find anything comparable (Safari Adblock seems to be OSX only).
Also, buttons show up as sunken text boxes here. I assume it's a graphics driver issue.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Scott.

Was wondering were they were
I installed the BuiltWith extension to test it out.
As for reload, is it different than the reload button that's at the end of the address bar?

Re: Was wondering were they were
No. It's exactly the same, apart from the fact that it's back where God intended it to be.

FireFox has had that option for a long while.

No doubt
features go back/forth all the time. I suspect Reader will pop up in the other browsers in the future.
Thing about Firefox is it's just not a good Mac program - things like COMMAND-CTRL-D don't work.

Sure there's extensions for Firefox to look up definitions, but it's not the same.

Jim Lynch is not happy
about Reader, and yet his site could be the poster child for why Reader is such a good thing to have - he has a short article that's broken up into 3 pages, and each pages has more space devoted to ads than content.

The new JavaScript Blacklist extension also does wonders to his site, he's got those horrible vibrant ads that pop up and obscure text as well as the copy/paste manipulator that adds the "Read more here: <link>".

Interesting
