Another interesting exercise: read your spam email in HTML mode and watch how many of them try to set tracking cookies. :-)

Last time I went through a list of obvious spam, it seemed like 70-80%.

Oh, and of course a good percentage of them wanted to run a script, too. One thing about Outlook 2000 and Internet Explorer as a secondary browser is that I can clamp down on the security zones and see the weird stuff in Email without interrupting my normal browsing experience in Mozilla.

New HTML is overkill for Email.
It needs a minimal markup type that excludes external URLs and SCRIPT, OBJECT, IFRAME and EMBED tags. That should suit what most people want HTML email for whilst making it a PITA for those who know how to abuse it.
