New Fungi increase plant heat tolerance
By inoculating tomato plants with fungi from plants growing near the hot springs in Yellowstone, the tomato plants can grow at temperatures reaching 148 F instead of their normal 100 limit. Same treatment gave rice and wheat heat tolerance (though they don't mention specifics).

New Guess that means...
I only have to order tomato on my mushroom deluxe burger then...

Imagine Shiitake mushroom and rice...
New I think most fungi interact with the roots
so it wouldn't be in the tomato itself. Fungi that grow inside the plant are called endophytes. I didn't see that term in the article, but it's possible they just didn't go into enough detail in the article (it was rather short).

New I was being obtuse...
or facetious depending on how you look at it.
New No problem, it's not always easy to pick up :)
