Welcome to IWETHEY!

New You been on Facebook?
I have and I am welcoming the additional settings. It was too sparse even in December.

I now have the ability to pick and choose what I want when.

The only problem is that when new settings become available, they are defaulting to "everyone".

You just have to get in the habit of checking things.
New Never have.
I'm a Luddite when it comes to "social networking". As people here know, I try to be circumspect in what I post here, but can give TMI on occasion. Since even the MSM is pushing Facebook and Twitter now, I occasionally think that I'm missing out and should take the plunge. Then some story gets some press about how "evil" these companies that are providing a free service are, or I figure that by the time I take the plunge it'll be a sure sign that that horse is dead, or ...

I got a LinkedIn invite once, but wasn't interested in that, either.

Yeah, I know that self-censorship is the best defense against stalkers, advertisers and the like. Still, it's hard to be 100% vigilant. Of course, Facebook is going to do what it can to make money - I have no problem with that. They do seem to be ham-handed about their "upgrades" though (resetting defaults, etc.).

I guess I'm going to be left behind. Oh well. ;-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New The problems with defaults...
being reset... really honestly doesn't exist not that they have changed to the modular approach. Yes the initial cut over to the new systems screwed up a lot of settings.

How many times have we given Microsoft... and gave up worrying about it and just assume its fecked.

Why haven't the <insert government agency> rake Microsoft over the coals like this?

Because the DOJ has convicted them and then slapping the wrist.
New You're not the only one
I have no desire to be on Facebook, My Space, Twitter, or any of that either. I'm a social person, but I like to have some control of where my information is put and who is allowed to interact with me. I don't want the whole world to know my business either.

Brenda

Before such superhuman attainments of sustained triviality one stands in something like awe.
