Obama speaks about conservative judicial activism
President Barack Obama, preparing to make his second nominee to the Supreme Court, warned Wednesday of a "conservative" brand of judicial activism in which the courts are often not showing appropriate deference to the decision of lawmakers.
Interesting statement. Probably overstates the case a bit, but the court has leaned too far to the right on corporate rights.
It suggests that Obama may be bracing for a fight over a fairly left with candidate. But it could be that he is providing cover for a more moderate one. Obama has a history of giving speeches the left likes, and but not following through when it comes time for action.
