All ya gotta do is look. I'm exposed to a shit ton of these tea party members on the motorcycle forums I frequent. Its just amazing. They also believe many other things. FDA is making the US sick. (they are but not the way they think). They believe Obama is indeed trying to make whites a slave. Some also believe that since Alabama never ratified the cease-fire (or what ever it was called) that the Civil War is still in effect. Oh just the absurdity.

Were there not signs, racial or other (nazi, etc) all over the antiwar protests, the G20 stuff is notoriously violent There seems to be a continued push to generalize the tea party folks as intolerant racial sub-intellectual folks. I actually think this is a very dangerous tactic, given the demographic of this group..which makes the membership much more likely to vote in a mid-term. I will choose a path that's clear. Same response I give my 15 year old when there is simply no reason to argue a silly (judged by me of course) viewpoint, and even if I "win", it doesn't really matter. Wasted effort. TPers aren't FOR much. Other than spending on the space industry. But they sure are AGAINST stuff. They express their displeasure not with alternative ideas, but with a variety of attacks. At least none that seems to make it into the real world, in an organized fashion. Show me a party platform that more than 50% of them agree with. Until then, I picture them as a South Park crowd. You know, rabble rabble rabble.

The entire reason they've gotten legs is because there isn't a party platform they are aligned with. They obviously lean Republican but don't think that the Republican party is being fiscally conservative enough and certainly this administration has only added on to that burden. Its a size of government issue. But according to Keith and Garofalo they can't have legitimate beliefs because they are all half wit racists. Not making up her view, she was pretty direct and that media presenting it is pretty main stream. There isn't alot of challenging the core gov't size argument..but there is a huge amount of race card being thrown about. Its a dangerous tactic being used. And a TP'er who happens to not be a racist would probably be pretty indignant about being told by MSNBC and others that the only reason they could possibly think differently is because the President is black and they are stupid.
