facebook tips - how to block "mob wars", etc.
There's a hidden HIDE button next to each news feed entry that lets you block those annoying "mob wars" and "farm" messages. I posted some screenshots in my blog on how to do that, as well as the visible, but easy to overlook "Block This Application" option to cut down on those Requests.

Wow, I've been blockin all the...
"What Britney Spear thinks of Me" and the "Pillow Fights" and the "Daily fairy horoscopes" and all that junk for a long while.
And get it right, we here play "Mafia Wars". And have a "Farmville" Farms. Some of us even have "CafeWorld" Cafes. Mob Wars and Treasure Isle stuff like that is for sissified sissys! |

that I forgot what they were really called (and hence the quotes) :)
Someone over at AA commented about the excess of crap in their Facebook news feed, so I posted that. I discovered the Block This Application fairly quickly, but it took a long time before I noticed the hidden HIDE button. I suspect if I hadn't found it I'd no longer be on Facebook. |
