Believe it or not, I have a friend that still uses a 8Mhz Xt clone and an old Apple //e machine. She also just got a Celeron system, but refuses to give up her older systems.

A 386SX and lower may not be able to run Windows 9X or the latest software; however, for low income people they can buy one used under $100 and then at least run some older versions of Lotus 123, Wordperfect, etc on it. Better than not having a system. One of my wife's friends I gave an old 386DX system to running Windows 3.1 and Office 4.3 on it. Good enough for her to enter Word 6.0 documents and save them to a floppy to be used somewhere else.
