New Internet Sharing In Win95
I'm Running A Peer to Peer Network Made Up Of Win95 And Win98 Computers. Short of Buying A Router Or Installing A Server OS on One Of The Computers, Can I Share An Internet Connection Over The Network (Either With 3rd Party Software Or Microsoft Add-In's)
(I Realize I Could Do This If I Upgraded All The Computers To 98 But It Would Drastically Slow Down The Computers' Performance)

Thx In Advance
New Yes.
Using a NAT gateway or a proxy server...

I think [link|http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/sharing.htm|this] might help you...

New I remember some 3rd party stuff is out there
but disremember the names of it. Good luck!

New Here's one

I have not used it, myself.

This is my sig. There's another almost like it, but this one is mine.
New I'd recommend a hardware router
I have a DLink Di-701 internet router / NAT / firewall and like it. Linksys is really popular with people here, and the costs for the consumer models are very reasonable ($100 or less for one without a switch).

New With NAT routers at $100 I can't afford . .
. . software solutions for DSL / Cable, but perhaps a person with more time will find them worthwhile.

If you need to share a dialup modem, software is much cheaper than an autodialing LAN Modem. Spartacom now markets iShare (formerly from Artisoft) which works quite well. List is $99, but it can be had cheaper.

New WinGate
I think that they still sell [link|http://www.wingate.com/|WinGate] and you can get a 30 day trial to test it out. Just install it on a machine that has the dial-up modem and ISP account.

If you have a Cable Modem or DSL, I'd reconmend the hardware router box. But if you only have a modem access, I'd reconmend the WinGate or some other software.

Some Router Boxes will take an external modem, but the cost of the Router Box and External Modem will be more than the cost of WinGate.
