![]() "Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow |

![]() Mike --
It's been obvious for some time that some of the 2p electrons in the SIlicon have been encountering 3-State problems in deciding their spin (+, -, and.. maybe) Diligent efforts via my personal STM (scanning tunneling microscope) seem to find a correlation to the interminable junk-quip threads in Politics forum: when I look at a cell storing the cache of these, I notice that the normally ~random vibrations of these electrons suddenly become more coherent. This is irregularly-Irregular! There is a distinct resemblance to the audio signature of She's Leaving Home (Frank ZappaÂ) initially.. finally, on the full-page threads: morphing into the actual rhythm of a Chopin passage in Op.72 No.2, oft heard at funerals. I believe this is as close to channeling the er channels to <--> retard homo-saps -- as inanimate structures get: kinda like that movie where the ants on the wall spell out some demands, y'know? Since we're likely damaging your router's cpu in similar fashion -- Got a PayPal account? It's only fair that we recompense you for this disturbance of normally autoregulating quantum processes (though this will not cure the Problem, and no one knows what the next escalation might be like..) |
|
![]() And no recompense needed. I have my own business. It buys lots of cool shiny new computer-related things for me. Costs me nothing. :)

![]() Can I ask what brand and model your new router is? John's workplace has decided that all of its employees should start working at home after October, and we are in the market for a router soon because we will have to go to DSL in order for that to work.
He's also considering wireless and concerned about it interacting with other devices in the household. Thanks, and I'm glad we're back up! Brenda ___________________________________________________________________

![]() John still doesn't want to get another kind of TV, and the $23.00 a month is just for the NHL channel right? We don't even have basic cable or satellite TV so we would be needing the entire package deal.
It's a nice thought though, and I keep hinting at it, hehehe, because people keep telling me AT & T has a nice package that includes a TV one, but John says it's Charter, and apparently a lot of people have problems with Charter. But hey, if I miraculously end up with a job...(shhh let's not jinx it),maybe he'll let ME pay for a different kind of TV. Meanwhile, one upgrade at a time. ;) Brenda ___________________________________________________________________

![]() Fucking 610N router died last night. Been running around all morning trying to get a new router and my IP address back. Unfortunately, since I threw out the original box, I CompUSA/TigerDirect flat-out refused to do anything other than a same-model exchange for me. So I had to either eat the $100+ I paid for this router in order to get an AirPort (which was the plan), or open-box exchange. So, I have a new 610N, and am praying to the network deities that this one stays working for more than a week and a half.
Anyway, after a 40-minute phone call to WideOpenWorst, I have my IP address back, and we should be back in working order. Until this router clunks out. -Mike
