before tonight I'd last talked with him towards the end of June - just a few days before it happened. He was away on business and we'd made tentative lunch plans for when he got back. I was concerned when I couldn't get a hold of him. He called tonight and told me what had happened. He recently stopped using the walker but he's still feeling very shaky on his feet. He started back to work yesterday.
