Master Wishlist
So I've gone through this forum as well as the recent thread in Open, and compiled this "master wishlist" of bugs/enhancements requested so far.
* Autorefresh
* Unread Post Counts
* User stylesheets
* ÂLogged In As.... bug
* Taglib error WRT ÂShow All Threads vs. ÂShow New Threads OnlyÂ
* Message quoting
* ÂMark Forum Read bar at bottom as well as top
* HTML in sigs
* Thread indent adjust by user pref
* Remain logged-in forever
* Mark-Read by Thread, not Forum
* Respect my browser font choice
* Lose the purple
* Markup in posts
* admin users (more to fix up broken links'n'shit in peoples' posts, than to police, but spammers need squishing from time to time)
* A PM system is always handy
* User Pref to "Show you in Active Users List" setting doesn't work.
* Oh, hell. Most of the User Prefs don't work.
Edit: Added Peter's requests.
-Mike

Re: Master Wishlist
The LRPD gif showing new content in "negative" area of line...
the Zope version had a "blank" gif to do most of the lifting except fpr the new lines.
That way the indents actually "line up better"

Yeah, that one is really irritating.

LRPD in messages.
When looking at a forum, you can see which parts of the thread had new messages, courtesy of the LRPD. But opening the thread doesn't put them against the message bodies, which was nice.

In case you haven't noticed...
...There's now a TODO link in the upper left box whereby you can track progress.

One more...
Sorting of threads...
Right now the Root Message/Post determines the sorting.
If we could get sorting based on newest posts first or other options, that would be great.

Edit Preferences -> Display -> Sort by Last Modified
The pref might actually be reversed, but it seems to work.

Some of them do.
That one changes the order of the threads. Whether it does it how you actually want it to is another matter. :-)

Another one related to the LRPD...
I seem to recall that the LRPD was actually in the subject line of the actual post body area of the thread...
Of course I might be mis-remembering. * Subject
blah-blah-blah

blah-blah-blah
blahblahblah
* re: Here
yackety-yack That is what I am talking about.

Owl's Wishlist
1)Please have preview be something that you have to turn on to use, rather than have to turn off to post.
2)I liked the feature where you could see everyone's status, but I don't know what it was called. It would show the activity status of everyone online.
3) The light and dark purple tones do make it hard to read for me, (I have a really dark monitor), but I don't know if "hard to read" is considered affecting the usefulness of the site for everyone, if it's just me. Just thought I would mention that it does affect readability for me.
Edit: 4) The lines wrap around a lot in the thread lists, so I can't always tell if it's a whole thread or more than one thread. Does that happen for anyone else?
Edit: 5) Save as post in new forum
Edit: 6) Oh, and "go to forum" selection box would be nice to have back.
I can't think of anything else right now, but if I do, I'll edit and add them here.

Regarding #1...
Edit Preferences, Posting Settings, Uncheck "Preview By Default."

Regarding #2...
Look in the upper RIGHT box. "3 active users at 3 LpH" is what it says for me right now. Click on the "active users" link.
It doesn't have all the functionality that the old version had, but it'll show you who's online currently.

Re: Regarding # 1 & #2...
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the replies, (sorry I'm so late in getting them). I fixed the preview default.
I still have problems reading the site with the purple, and tiny print, but John ordered me a new monitor, YAY, 19 inch one, and it's due to arrive on Monday. Hopefully that will make it easier for me to read in here. :)
Appreciate everything you're doing for IWT. :)

Re: Master Wishlist
Couple more:
* Pin a post or thread so that it always appears, irrespective of the forum/thread's read/unread status
* a "my stuff" link, showing the threads and posts I've made
