Welcome to IWETHEY!

New This may help.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I assume it's shot somewhere along this path.

http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Projet-Alpes08-Etappe2

123.4 km. From there, Google Earth or Maps should be able to give elevation changes, in principle.

Alternatively, this site says the are several Venosc routes.

HTH a bit.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Firstly, go watch the video
Secondly, it's nearly seven minutes of high-speed downhill switchbacks. Definitely not a loop course.

Thirdly, how do you *find* this stuff? That second link, by the way, mentions a 4100 ft. Venosc road circuit. So easily the run in the video could be several thousand feet down.
New Ah.
Those guys are nuts! :-)

I didn't know it was a bike trail. The maps I found were of road courses.

How did I find it? I think I did variations on "Venosc bike altitude" "Venosc bicycle altitude" and so forth and followed a few links.

It looks like that run may be the one they describe here:

http://www.venosc.com/anglais/vtt.php

=== begin cut ===

IN VENOSC

25 km of marked trails from Venosc to Bourg d’Oisans , and a downhill run from les Deux Alpes to Venosc In les Deux Alpes: Change in level from 3200 m to 720m

With the bureau des guides des 2 alpes, you'll cycle with a guide with your or our bike : initiation, perfectionnement, difficult rides!

From 20 € for an half day . +33(0)4 76 11 36 29 guides2alpes@yahoo.fr

=== end cut ===

If that's not the run, it must be in the vicinity.

Cheers,
Scott.

New think thats it
watched the vid a couple of times, that elevation drop over that distance sounds about right
Yes, Virginia, there really is an Obama Claus. You can hear him shouting, "On Pelosi, on Reid, on Kennedy, on Biden. Cash away, cash away, cash away all!"

It's like dingos mating with elephants: messy loud with lots of snapping and position changes.
