New May have conflated the two, but then..
(I too miss seeing reruns of the great BBC "World at War" docu-dramas.)

I consider anything post- 6-6-44 as still part of D-Day - and this op was in 9/44. Maybe they used the technique on 6-6 too (?) but the nature of Market Garden, paratroops, etc. seems to fit. Will delve further, anon.
