By bringing this up right after the MoveOn ad thing, they think they can put pressure on the Republicans.

I don't think it will work. Rush has always been offensive, there is nothing new about that. And the Republicans are better at killing little issues like this by keeping their mouths shut.

And you're probably correct that it won't help their cause. It might actually backfire on them if they end up rallying the entire talk radio community against them. Most have been defecting from Bush on issues of economy and immigration...and been fairly vocal in this.
