New He is not afraid to admit he made a mistake
He is unable to admit his mistakes in any kind of direct manner.
Seamus
New You don't understand.
He doesn't think invading Iraq was a mistake.

He now thinks that when we the Iraqis stand up in 2135, the US will be able to stand down and everyone will see that he was right. The Brits and the South Koreans and the Italians and the Slovaks and [link|http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_orbat_coalition.htm|all the others] just don't understand the importance of maintaining their forces in Iraq. Only the Bush Administration does.

Of course, initially he thought the Iraq campaign would take 3 weeks and all the troops (except for the few tens of thousands that would fight the terrorists and protect US interests) would be home by December 2003. That estimate wasn't a mistake, though. It was just a misunderestimation.

HTH!

Cheers,
Scott.
