New Redirecting Firefox's cache folder in Windows?
Due to our new backup-focused setup here at work, we're capturing everything from the user's profile, including the Windows Application Data folder which has the Firefox cache in it.

This has absolutely MURDERED Firefox's performance.

Is there an option that points the cache to a different directory?

New Yes.
[link|http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.disk.parent_directory|Mozillazine] seems to cover it.

HTH.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Thanks!
New Here is the documented method
[link|http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.disk.parent_directory|Mozillazine]
The Cache location can be changed by adding the "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" preference and entering a new path (Note: In the past, this was specified in the "browser.cache.disk.directory" preference and before that, "browser.newcache.directory" and "browser.cache.directory" behaved similarly.)

I've never had a reason to try this, but it should work.

Jay
