Too obvious, and maybe too short - everyone might go...

...might go, "OK, let's get this election done quick so the next g[uy|al] can deal with this". Do it this summer, and that'd be far too far out; also, get it done now and the new more-overtly-imperial structures have a bit more time to settle into place.

AHHH, yes.

Giving time to force DHS to really dig its heels in and extend the sinew into places it can't right now of course, the strings need to be tied up as well.

All that does take time.

And what does Cheney think about this?

I am sure he has threatened^Wasked to take others hunting with him...
