My garage door was hung over 40 years ago.[1] Unlike most modern hardware -- with the wheel pins mounted just behind the door and the brackets offset from the door frame by a inch or so -- mine has holes drilled lengthwise into the end of the panels and the pins mounted inside. The track is mounted directly to the back of the door frame with no offset.
Now, after decades of faithful service, one of the bottom brackets has worn out a wheel. Bottom brackets that are still made go for about $5. But the installer I called said he hasn't seen this type of door for 20 years, and doesn't know where to get hardware for it.
Anybody got any good sources I can check?
[1] And it's still working? Must be well hung. There I said it.
