And reading that post, you make it sound as if Microsoft originated the concept in IE6. Opera, IIRC, was first to market with the feature, followed by Mozilla and the rest.

New I think NetCaptor was first
NetCaptor's engine was IE. Opera did have MDI though.

But no MS didn't catch on to tabs until IE7 (unless you count the lame implementation in the MSN toolbar or the MS Document Explorer that comes with Visual Studio).
