I have read the bible entirely a couple of times, it is one of my favorite science fiction books ever, the book of Job is amazing.

It might be good casual read if you don't pay to much attention. But if you look closely there isn't a lot of internal consistency. The dates don't add up, people do things for no reason, several bits are done more then once and the story changes course for no reason several times. The whole things reads like a bunch of authors works where pasted together and glossed over into one book.
