In some theaters, this film is also offered in 'Disney Digital 3-D[tm]'.

We decided to take that option and really liked it. You need to wear a pair of polarized glasses (which fit fine over my prescription ones) but the 3-D effects are quite striking. As a bonus, they show an old Donald Duck short that was originally made in (old school) 3-D and updated to Digital 3-D.

New I'm trying to find one locally showing it that way
I took the girls to see it while the wife was out to lunch with a friend. Then found out that the wife wanted to see it, too. Oops. Well, I'll go again if I get to see it in 3D.

On the kill-the-parents opening, I hadn't noticed but yes, it does follow the tradition of the parent-less child. It opens with a baby being abandoned on the steps of an orphanage, for crying out loud.

Good flick, though. And I liked how they tied in the Walt Disney quote. That was cool. Maybe someone there is trying to look back to what made Disney great.
