New Peak oil and climate change
>>It is mathematically impossible that peak oil will solve climate change.

Who on earth is making this claim?

Besides people with no brain cells, that is.
Tom Sinclair

Rube: You like spaghetti, George? I like spaghetti. I like board games. I like grabbing a trifecta with that longshot on top. That ozone smell you get from air purifiers. And I like knowing the space between my ears is immeasurable. Mahler's first, Bernstein conducting. You've got to think about all the things you like and decide whether they're worth sticking around for. And if they are, you'll find a way to do this.
George: And what if I don't?
Rube: Then you go away, and you don't get to like anything anymore.

New Some guy who wrote a book.
I don't know much about him. The book gets a glowing review at [link|http://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Oil-Shock-Extinction-Petroleum/dp/0719564239/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/203-7550792-3852716?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175270901&sr=8-1|Amazon.co.uk].

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who agrees that it's a very strange statement. It seems clear that he's not a mathematician.)
New Re: Peak oil and climate change
Check the credentials and see if this person is qualified.

There are a lot of crackpots trying to pass themselves off as global warming and peak oil experts, and when they combine the two it is usually a crackpot that does that.

I did a search to see if we wrote anything else, or if he had a degree. All I could find was that he is an investigative journalist, and does not list any science degrees.

It seems like his book plays on the peak oil and global warming fears in order to sell more copies. I cannot find any peer reviews of his research or even if he followed the scientific method.

I cannot verify this person's credentials or even prove that he used science in any way or even holds a degree.
