New Infoworld ditching treeware version.
Yes, you must understand this.

No more postal incursions from Infoworld. Though it is thin and tiny by comparison 15 years ago... it went through severe diet during the "Windows is the Future!" regime.

New Interesting news. Thanks.
I suspect an awful lot of newspapers and magazines will do that shortly before they die. Once they're online-only though, it will be tough for them to keep their (remaining) readership, I think.

I think it generally makes sense for most weekly magazines to be on-line only. However, print still has its place. I recently got a free subscription to [link|http://www.theweekmagazine.com/|The Week]. It gives condensed versions of news stories of the previous week, with very little advertising. It's pretty handy and more convenient than, say, scanning Google news while sitting in a comfy chair.

(The free subscription was a premium for subscribing to Salon.)

Cheers,
Scott.
New The Week is a great magazine
Short and sweet, both sides are presented, and as you say, very few ads.

"Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson..."
New No surprise there.
It hasn't managed much more than 40 pages for years and last week's issue was an even 40.

It would have taken some real effort and some serious crow eating to undo the damage Sandy Reed did and they just weren't up to it.

If I'm going to visit an exotic foreign land with L. Ron Hubbard or Jim Jones, I'll opt for the Scientology tour.
