My company is currently hiring programmers, but I don't think we have any need for a dedicated tech writer. Cellular South is hiring; it's possible they might need a tech writer. And there's a company in Hattiesburg that's doing a lot of tech hiring lately, but again, I don't know if they'd need a writer. There's also the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, which would be much closer to Monroe than Jackson. Being a research facility they just might be interested in a tech writer. Beyond that I don't have too many ideas. I'll ask around at work and see if the sales guys (who have a lot of contacts in the industry) might know of something.
