Welcome to IWETHEY!

New A group I'll keep an eye on.
I heard Sam Waterston mention it on ABC's "This Week" today.

[link|http://www.unity08.org/|Unity08.org]. They are a new (to me anyway) [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/527_group|527] being built by Democrats and Republicans who are aiming to sign up delegates for a "Unity Ticket". I like a lot of what I'm reading on their [link|http://www.unity08.com/believe|What We Believe] page, but I'm not ready to take the plunge yet.

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who would at most be a supporter.)
New I believe it was Grover Norquist
...who cheerfully described bipartisanship as "date rape." There'a an old adage about how adding a cup of wine to a cask of sewage leaves you with a cask of sewage, whereas adding a cup of sewage to a cask of wine leaves you with...a cask of sewage. What would be the dream ticket of an outfit like this one? Why, no doubt party "mavericks" John McCain in the top slot and, yes, Joe "Joementum" Lieberman reprising his 2000 role as the lovable dreary scold sidekick.

I ain't buyin'. Yes, a third force in American politics might be a desirable abstract, but trying to make common cause with today's GOP is like compromising with cancer: a tumor has its own agenda, and its working relationship with other cells must ever be one-sided, however it masks this at the outset.

cordially,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.
New Heh. The Neocons feel the same way about Dems.
But what if they have their own candidates? Candidates that actually defect from former parties?

The current parties are deeply flawed.

It just might be time for a new one.

  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New I wouldn't exactly call the dems a cask of wine these days..
Raw sewage? No. But in my book, the difference between the two parties these days is that one uses lube when they screw you.
Odoru aho ni miru aho!
Onaji aho nara odoranya son son!
New Need to see who is on their slate
Groups like that get floated every so often, and the situation is certainly ripe for one. But unless they get a very strong ticket it won't amount to anything.

I do agree with what they list as the most important issues though. So when they get to the point of putting forth some possible candidates, I will consider them.

New Didn't we have our own slate a while back?
Still think that was those were the best candidates.

The IWETHEY party!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. (Herm Albright)

This was a random error that most likely occurred when a ray of cosmic radiation hit a memory chip at just the right angle resulting in a bit changing from a 0 to a 1.
