New 300
Very artistic but not very historically accurate.

The altering of the history of the battle itself is really only a minor issue. The movie is so obviously an art piece more then anything that the historical inaccuracy only slightly bothered me.

In the end, the real flaw of this movie is the lack of character. Everybody in the movie is a cut out prop that exists for the artistic flow of the movie. Even the king who the story is built around has little personality.

Still, it is a decent movie. The sort of 3 star movie that you enjoy watching but won't remember next year.

New Johnny, do you like gladiator movies?

New Roger, Rodger. Over, Ober. ;-)
New Saw it last night
I like the recent spate of graphic novel-inspired movies that take some cinematographic cues from the source material. I'm waiting for one that uses the extreme points of view without the self-conscious duplication of specific shots. (ie: Silhouettes with glowing eyes, etc.)

Favorite line: SPOILER ALERT:
The council said you can't take the army to war!

I'm not. I'm just going for a stroll, and these 300 men are my personal bodyguard.

So where will you go?

I was thinking: North.

Overall, a good way to occupy your eyes and ears while your mouth works on the popcorn.

Kip Hawley is still an idiot.
