the terrorists will really be in our midst! The colonial model has worked well in the past. Occupy a country, force reform upon it, give it lots of aid after it's reformed, wait for the reforms to take root, and then set it loose. Sometimes it goes wrong. We can't seem to get rid of Puerto Rico, for example. Maybe we need a Constitutional amendment to force colonies to quit sucking the teat after a certain time period. If they know they'll have independence foisted on them in, say, thirty years, it should focus the mind wonderfully.
