Trying to find the date for a song
I discovered an old cassette tape today that apparently was recorded shortly after 9/11. It features the version of Don Henley's "New York Minute" that had the quotes from the news media and President Bush intermixed with it.
I went searching online to see if I could find out a guess when this tape was recorded, (as in when was this song released in this version) but so far, it isn't even listed in his discography because the original was released years earlier.
Does anyone have any idea how I can find the date this song was compiled together in this manner?
Thanks!
Brenda

Do you have the name of the artist?
that created this version? If so, give [link|http://www.billboard.com|www.billboard.com] a try. On the main page you can do an artist search, go to the artist's page returned from the search, then click on the link for Singles.
Perhaps Don Henley has this listed under his Discography link.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow

It can't be 1995, if it was for 9/11/2001
I have the original date of the song, sorry if I didn't explain that right.
What I'm looking for is the date it was changed to include 9/11 references, quotes from Bush and the media, and etc.
I searched on Billboard.com but I don't know the artist, I had just assumed it was Don Henley. He sings the altered version but it's been intercut with the 9/11 media. I found a Don Henley site but no sign of anything about the altered version.
I even looked on Barnes & Noble and can't even find a recording of that version. I've been looking for over an hour for the answer, maybe I should just assume it was in 2001 and use that year as the date I recorded it.
EDIT: I forgot to say thanks for trying to help, though!

Yes, I'm sure
I apparently taped it off of a local radio station here in St. Louis, during some sort of disaster relief fund they were holding. It's definitely the song "New York Minute" by Don Henley, they even say that on the radio, but it's intercut with 9/11 references, instead of played straight.
I'm just weird, I like to put proper dates on things I tape or write or photograph, and it's bugging me that I can't find the date and never dated it back then.

2001
"Within hours of the terrorist bombing of the two World Trade Center towers, a radio station cleverly put together voice tracks of the tragic attacks to Don Henley's "New York Minute"."

I don't think it was an official remake.

Thank you!
That dates it probably around the 11th or 12th, so I have a date to use!
Much appreciation, now I can stop searching. :)
